My Biography

After graduating in 1991, a lack of employment opportunities in the Bay Area prompted me to relocate to southern California. However, being a fourth-generation San Franciscan, I realized I preferred fog over smog. I applied to every Kaiser Permanente facility in the greater Bay Area. The only opening available was a temporary position in Stockton. I accepted it, and a few years later, a permanent position became available at San Francisco Medical Center.

My busy practice continually challenges me to improve my skills, keep up with advances in the field, and adapt to change, all while providing compassionate health care. Kaiser Permanente has excellent, proactive patients. I find that a good number of patients are diligent about returning for routine eye exams. Clearly, Kaiser Permanente’s message about preventive health care has been successful in reaching many people.

I enjoy following Giants baseball and managing my fantasy baseball team, the G-Men. I also serve in various ministry capacities in my church. I help myself THRIVE by focusing on what I call the Four F’s: faith, family, friends, and fun! I live with my wife Theresa. We have two sons and a daughter.

Many people have Laser Vision Correction done so that they are no longer dependent on glasses or contact lenses for distance vision. Individuals over 40 will still need glasses for reading after Laser Vision Correction to correct both eyes for distance.
