My Qualifications

I went to both college and medical school at Northwestern University, then came back to California for internship and residency in Internal Medicine in Davis. I joined Kaiser Permanente as a hospital based specialist in 2002. I care for hospitalized patients primarily at the Morse Avenue, Sacramento facility.

My Credentials

Medical school Northwestern University School of Medicine, Chicago, IL
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

My Practice Philosophy

I believe that patient education is key in empowering patients and keeping them from hospitalization. As a hospitalist, I spend as much time with each patient as is necessary to make sure that they receive the appropriate workup and treatment, and to make sure all their questions are answered. I believe that personal attention and a little TLC goes a long way in caring for patients and their families.

Why I joined Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser Permanente focuses on preventative medicine and comprehensive care of the patient. I also enjoy that fact that I can order any appropriate test on any patient without having to seek authorization from non-MD personnel, unlike most HMO’s.

My Outside Interests

I enjoy cooking, piano, reading, and spending time with my family.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
