Introduction

I currently work at the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Center in San Jose, conducting assessments to diagnose autism spectrum disorders. I also work with the Division of Research, with the EARLI (Early Autism Risks Longitudinal Investigation) study, which investigates possible risk factors and biologic indicators for ASD during prenatal, neonatal, and early postnatal development, and the SEED study, which investigates risk and causal factors and phenotypic subgroups of ASD.

Background

My clinical training was in clinical psychology at the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University, with emphases in early childhood mental health and health psychology. My experiences have been in working in community mental health facilities, in early intervention with children on the autism spectrum, and in an adolescent group home setting, as well as in general outpatient therapy with individual children and families, conducting psychological assessments, and running therapeutic groups.

Recommnedations

I believe in early intervention and family and community education. Progress in our field has been the result of a collaborative effort of families, providers and community. I am committed to the development of children’s mental health through evidence-based practices and have been privileged to work with a team at Kaiser Permanente that integrates research in the clinical practice. Please be sure to register at kp.org to make it easier for you to interact with me and for me to take care of many of your healthcare needs. I'm eager to work with you to make your experience at Kaiser Permanente a positive one.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
