About Me

When I was growing up, I always I wanted to pursue a career in health care. My decision to pursue this dream has been rewarding in so many ways. Health care has provided me with an opportunity to help those in need and has allowed me to work in an arena where I could interact with others. I have fortunately been exposed to so many individuals and truly enjoy listening and getting to know each of my patients.

I have been practicing with Kaiser Permanente since 1981. I started in Vallejo and within one year went to the Martinez facility where I stayed for 20 years. For the past four years I have been working at the Park Shadelands facility in Walnut Creek. My experience here has been wonderful. Kaiser Permanente places an emphasis on quality care, service to patients, and preventative care. I believe that patient education is essential and paramount to effective health care. Kaiser Permanente makes it easier for me to consult with my patients as needed and maintain integrated care benefits.

I grew up in Sacramento, California, and later attended the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. I enjoy general optometry, including contact lenses. In my spare time I also like reading, traveling, cooking, and trying out new restaurants. I speak some Cantonese, but am not fluent yet.

My Education and Credentials

Undergraduate Education: BS in Physiology, University of California, Berkeley
Optometric Education: University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
