I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I received my undergraduate degree from Reading Hospital School of Nursing in 1966 and my anesthetist education from Reading Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia in 1976. I lived and worked in Guam for 15 years then in 1991 joined Kaiser Santa Clara.

I have been a nurse anesthetist for many years and still find my job to be very exciting and interesting. I like to learn something new everyday, and anesthesia certainly provides opportunities for learning and personal growth. The other aspect of my job that I enjoy is tailoring the anesthetic to the individual needs of each patient. I like to encourage patients to use one of Kaiser's mind-body programs as they prepare for a surgery. The mind is such a powerful tool to use in helping a patient through a stressful situation like surgery.

I am an avid golfer. In my spare time I also enjoy gardening, reading, painting, knitting, sewing, traveling, cooking, and yoga. I have been a Girl Scout leader for many years.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
