Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Welcome to my webpage. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.

Biography

I was born in a refugee camp in Thailand and came to the United States when I was just a year old. When I was younger, the hospital seemed like an intimidating yet interesting place. My father, who was a former medic in the refugee camps, was often called upon to help interpret in the hospital whenever there was any misunderstanding or difficulty with communication. I was always interested in hearing about the hospital stories and what the misunderstandings were. That interest and my parents’ encouragement led me to pursue a career in medicine.

I grew up in Modesto, CA and graduated from Thomas Downey High School. After high school, I attended Yale University, New Haven, CT and completed my bachelor’s degree in biology and masters degree in public health. I then made a stop in the Midwest where I attended the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed my Internal Medicine internship in Minneapolis, MN. I finally returned to California to complete my Anesthesiology residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA.

My decision to join Kaiser Permanente was inspired by the friendly work environment, the organization’s focus on the patient and the opportunity to come home to Modesto. We have a great team in Kaiser Permanente, and I want to help my patients in a customized manner specific to their needs. My medical interests include culturally sensitive medical care and patient safety issues. I am fluent in English and Hmong.

Hobbies and Interests

I come from a large extended family and enjoy the company of family and friends. I am married and have a daughter. At my leisure, I enjoy photography, biking, playing outdoors and hiking.

Philosophy of Care

My goal is to treat all patients with respect and compassion. Having surgery and going under anesthesia can be scary for many patients, so I hope to alleviate your anxiety and care for you to get you through surgery safely and help facilitate a smooth recovery.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.
