My Practice Philosophy

Quality of life cannot be achieved when you simply treat a medical illness. It is important to provide patient-centered care with interdisciplinary team (IDT) approach to patients in order to maximize their quality of life. I am very enthusiastic to extensively work together with the IDT members (patient and their families are a core part of the IDT team) in delivering my services, focusing on improving each patient’s quality of life for the rest of their life.

About Me

I was born and raised in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). I graduated from the Institute of Medicine of Yangon, Myanmar in 2001. I completed my residency training at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York followed by a move to Honolulu, Hawaii for my fellowship at the University of Hawaii. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

I speak English and Myanmar (Burmese). I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2011.

My Medical Interests

My professional interests include geriatric medicine, long-term care and home care. I am interested in quality improvement projects in geriatric medicine, especially in nursing home and home care settings. I am also interested in geriatric medical education.

Some of my personal hobbies include reading and writing poems, meditation and playing the guitar.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
