Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Welcome to the Kaiser Permanente Physical Therapy Department. Physical therapy is an integral component of the healthcare professions concerned with improving quality of life for persons whose ability to function has been impaired. We work to restore, maintain, and promote not only optimal physical function but also optimal wellness, fitness, and quality of life as it relates to movement and health. We prevent the onset, symptoms and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from disease states, trauma, misuse, disuse, overuse, and new use injuries. Return of function implies an improvement in overall health and a state of wellness, which reduces the need for other healthcare services. Our goal is to return you to your life, not make you a lifetime patient dependant on our services. This involves appropriate interventions coupled with patient education for optimal self-care.

About Me

I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Biodynamics from University of California, Berkeley in 1996. From there I went on to receive my Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 2000. In 2004, I completed the process to become a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT); and in March of 2006 I sat for the Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) exam from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). I have been a member of the APTA since 1997, and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) since 2001.

I was born in Cleveland, OH but grew up in central Wisconsin for most of my youth. I met my wife of over ten years in Modesto and we have three beautiful boys. I enjoy spending time with my wife and close friends over coffee and good conversation, and I love camping and hiking with my family. I am a true therapy geek in that I love to collect therapy textbooks and enjoy studying and learning new approaches to patient care.

My Philosophy of Care

I believe the patient is the most important source of information in the treatment of any condition. A thorough evaluation with consistent reassessment is necessary to identify the impairments and to assess the appropriate treatment course and progression. I believe in continually learning and improving and strive to work in a partnership with my patients to grow in my ability to treat patients.

My officie hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I will be at the Modesto Medical Offices on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the Manteca Medical Offices on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
