Welcome to my home page

Please take some time to explore my page. You can learn a little more about me, and a lot more about physical therapy if you check out the links to the left. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, or have a specific medical topic in mind, try searching our Health Encyclopedia.

About me

I wanted to be part of a profession where I could serve the community, have personal interactions with those I was helping, and have both a physical and mentally challenging environment. I found my niche working as a physical therapist. Physical therapy is a problem solving profession. It also involves teaching and sales (“selling” the treatment approach to the patient).

I like working for Kaiser Permanente because I can practice ethically and place the welfare of my patients first. I enjoy the opportunity of working with other professions to achieve this end.

My goal as a physical therapist is to educate the patient on how to care for themselves and have them take an active roll in their care so as to prevent future injury. I particularly enjoy working with athletes and patients with shoulder problems and patients with running injuries.

When I’m not working, you might find me brewing beer, watching my kids play sports, listening to Irish music, or being a re-enactor at Renaissance faires. I have traveled to Ireland four times so far, with the last time being 2009.

My education and credentials:

Undergraduate Degree BS in Biology, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
Physical Therapy Education BS from University of Illinois, Chicago
Licensure Physical Therapy Board of California
Advanced Training Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Australian Approach, Dublin, CA
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
