About Me

I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2002 upon completion of my specialty training in ophthalmology in Wisconsin. Prior to that, I spent time in Chicago getting my medical degree. While these were all very valuable years, and I would never trade them, it’s great to be back in California – and I sure don’t miss the winters in the Midwest.

My college years were spent at UC Davis, and it’s great to be working with an organization where I can be involved in the training of the health care providers of the future that are currently training at UC Davis currently.

My Healthcare Practice

As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, I will manage all of your eye care needs, utilizing the most up-to-date technology available. I am also fortunate enough to be one of the only two providers of laser vision correction for all of the Kaiser facilities in the area, assisting patients in the reduction of their dependence for corrective lenses whether they are far-sighted, near-sighted or have astigmatism. I also specialize in implanting intraocular lenses to restore near and far vision at the same time, as well as lenses to correct for very high levels of near-sightedness where laser vision correction is not an option. The practice of ophthalmology allows me to medically and surgically restore vision, as well as maintain a close relationship with my patients.

Receiving Your Healthcare From Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser healthcare has the advantage of providing the availability of multiple medical specialties, which is ever expanding to better meet the needs of patients. Our goal is to provide the highest quality healthcare with the best access possible.

My Outside Interests

My wife and I enjoy exploring all of the outdoor wonders that California has to offer, and now are exposing our three young children to these as well. I am involved in UC Davis resident teaching and mentoring, and am fortunate that working at Kaiser has allowed me to creating a program providing eye care to those who are uninsured and in need of eye care through the county medical society.
