About Me

I have always been interested in the health care setting. I volunteered in the local hospital starting in the 7th grade and since I was too young to work on the acute floors I was put to work in an outpatient Physical Therapy clinic. I found the experience to be very rewarding, even as a young observer. I found that I respected the therapists and how they interacted with their patients. I was fascinated to see that Physical Therapy was a two way street and the patient had to take charge and participate in their own recovery.

I enjoy my work. I like watching patients get stronger and return to their prior level of function, or at the very least, better than when we started treatment. I love the fact that the patient learns to work toward their recovery as a team member, not expecting the therapist to do all the work but instead making progress by doing their part.

My practice philosophy is to treat all patients as if they were members of my family. I like to work with wounds, and have learned my skills from wonderfully gifted therapists. Orthopedics has been a special interest for me, but I was very gratified by the years I spent in rehabilitation.

I appreciate working for this organization. Kaiser Permanente works on an evidence-based philosophy and this allows the practitioner to get good results that keep our clients happy. Also, Kaiser Permanente does not discriminate against the older worker, but instead appreciates the well experienced employee.

On a personal note, I like to work with miniatures, read, and play with my grandchildren and 14 year old dog. I also love to hike in the wonderful hills around the Bay Area with my husband.

My Education and Credentials:

Professional Education AA in Physical Therapy fom Contra Costa College, San Pablo
Licensure PTA, Physical Therapy Board of California

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
