Welcome to my Home Page

For those new to this site, I have written a little about me and how I practice psychiatry. I hope you will take the time to read what I’ve written. I am enthusiastic about using the Web as a way of communicating with you, providing you with links to informative sites and enhancing your experience at Kaiser Permanente. My goal in working with you is to collaborate with you in improving your quality of life.

About Me

I believe that psychiatry is the specialty in which a physician best gets to know the patient as a whole person. I enjoy understanding how genetic predisposition, medical conditions, relationships, and life circumstances come together to affect a person's mental and overall health.

I completed internship in internal medicine and residency in psychiatry. As such, I am particularly interested in working with patients with both medical and psychiatric issues. I am particularly interested in working with patients dealing with HIV/AIDS, autoimmune diseases, and stroke. I believe that informed, thoughtful and coordinated treatment offers the best care, particularly for patients with both medical and psychiatric concerns. If you have a primary care provider or a specialty physician at Kaiser with whom you are working, I collaborate with him or her to assure that both your medical and psychiatric care are coordinated. I am also a member of the psychiatry consultation team that provides services to patients hospitalized at our medical center.

I am a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine. I completed my residency in June of 2005.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
