About me

I choose Physical Therapy because of the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. In physical therapy, no matter how great the dysfunction we are always working towards improving the quality of someone’s life.

I enjoy being able to provide educational information that women can apply to their own lives and make significant improvements in their health. It is very rewarding for me to help women take charge of their health concerns and provide them treatments and a plan to improve their quality of life. I have a strong interest in the role of physical therapy in the treatment of women with pelvic dysfunctions, urinary and fecal incontinence and pre and post partum conditions.

I feel that to be effective, the patient and I must be in agreement about what her needs are. If I can understand why a patient has come to see me, I can then give a realistic plan of care that incorporates her interests and involvement. As I am responding to the patient’s needs my approach is varied, holistic, and often requires the assistance of other specialties.

Working at Kaiser Permanente provides the opportunity for a true team approach to medical care. Because of the physical proximity to other providers and computer charting, I am able to easily consult with other providers to provide quality care for my patients. Kaiser Permanente as an organization is very open to new treatment approaches and novel ways of addressing patient’s needs.

On a personal note, I have been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for many years. I enjoy quilting, reading (especially mysteries) and gardening. The beach is my all time favorite destination.

My educational background and experience:

Undergraduate Education BS Psychology, University of California, Davis
Graduate Education MS Physical Therapy, University of Southern California
Membership American Physical Therapy Association, Women's Health Section

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
