Background
Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. I received my BA from UC Berkeley (GO Bears!!)in Physical Education then attended Samuel Merritt College earning my Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1996. Shortly after, I moved to Biloxi, Mississippi to fulfill my 2 year obligation as a condition of the Government’s Health Professional Scholarship granted to me during my educational career. I remained there for just under 10 years progressing from a Staff Physical Therapist to Chief of the Physical Therapy Service. In 2006, following Hurricane Katrina, we returned back to California where I joined the Kaiser Permanente San Jose family in the Capacity of the Inpatient Physical Therapy Supervisor.
I have been a Physical Therapist for several years and truly enjoy my profession. I most love being involved in the care of my patients and seeing the benefit of us working together. There is a genuine satisfaction in knowing that someone’s life may be a little better because I was involved in it. I chose this profession initially based on my own experience as an athlete, but have expanded my practice to include those with orthopedic needs as well as those requiring wound, burn, chronic pain, and acute care rehabilitation. During my career, I discovered my passion for teaching and have extended this interest into areas of injury prevention, health education, and community wellness.
My Philosphy
My job as your physical therapist is to work closely with you and your family thoroughly exploring the best options and available alternatives to develop the best treatment plan for you in the prevention, recovery, and adaptation to disease and dysfunction. I feel that it is extremely essential for people to be active participants in their rehabilitation process and proactive in their own healthcare. Knowledge is extremely powerful and I will strive to provide you with the necessary understanding tools to empower you in your life promoting overall health and wellness allowing you to better thrive.
My personal interests revolve around anything that involves spending time with my family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, and eating good food!!!
