Welcome to my home page!

I was born at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City and have been a member ever since. I have enjoyed working at Kaiser Permanente since December 2005. I graduated from Baylor University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and spend a semester as undergraduate studying French at the University of Nantes.

After graduation I returned home where I attended graduate school at San Francisco State University to achieve a Master of Science degree in Communicative Disorders. My clinical experience includes internships at Oak Knoll Elementary School in Menlo Park, Mills Peninsula Hospital in San Mateo and a clinical fellowship year at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where I currently continue to work 30 hours a week.

During the past few years working as a Speech-Language Pathologist I have spent most of my time working with outpatient adult and pediatric populations. As an outpatient therapist I see mostly patients who have had traumatic brain injuries, stroke and other neurological conditions that result in speech, language, voice and swallowing difficulties. I strive to develop goals for patients that are both functional and important to the patient by working closely with the patient and their caregivers. It is my goal to do everything I can to help patients return to activities in the community and regain a sense of independence.

In order to continue my growth in areas related to Speech and Language Pathology I am a member or organizations such as the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the San Mateo County Speech-Language and Hearing Association. I encourage you to visit websites such as www.asha.org or www.csha.org to find out more information related to the field of speech and language pathology.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
