About Me

Hello, my name is Martha Burnett. I am an Optometrist. An Optometrist diagnoses vision problems and eye diseases, prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses, and prescribes drugs to treat eye disorders. I also am a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves. I was deployed to England during Operation Desert Storm. In, 2007, I was appointed by Governor Schwarzeneggar to the California State Board of Optometry.

My Professional Affiliations

National Optometric Association
California Optometric Association
Sacramento Valley Optometric Society
American Optometric Association

About My Practice

At Kaiser Permanente, I strive to assist all patients, especially the elderly, disabled and children to achieve their maximum vision and ocular health satisfaction. I appreciate being able to work closely with fellow colleagues and ophthalmologists.

In addition to English, I am fluent in Spanish.

On A Personal Note…

I like reading, shopping and speaking to young people about the Optometric profession. I am a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. I have a wonderful husband and three children that are currently attending Sacramento State University.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
