How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

I have always liked Kaiser Permanente’s health care system. It is structured and all patients have a primary care physician who works in concert with a variety of specialists. And at Kaiser, I have the ability to practice medicine as medicine, rather than as a business.

The structure of the Kaiser model allows for continuity with patients. Interactions with specialists are not only facilitated, but referrals occur in an appropriate fashion. Providers are able to serve patients without regard for financial or insurance concerns.

I can honestly say that I am happy to come to work every day. I consider myself to be enormously fortunate to be working here. My patients tend to be pleasant and proactive folks. They really appreciate what I can do for them, and I feel I make a tangible difference in their lives. I believe in working with patients in a mutual partnership. Areas of special interest to me include following new approaches to valve surgery, and issues concerning aortic surgery. I look forward to an opportunity to do medical missions abroad under the aegis of an international organization.

I THRIVE by using my stationary bike in the morning and avoiding fast food. While I do not believe in diets, I do follow a sensible eating plan. During my leisure time I enjoy reading medical literature and nonfiction. I also like reading about contemporary political issues and modern history. I maximize my commuting time by listening to audio books, especially those concerning political science or history lecture series.

I look forward to helping ensure that our services meet your needs and expectations. Our goal at Kaiser Permanente is to be your health plan of choice and deliver the quality medical care our members deserve.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
