Welcome to my homepage! I chose the practice of hospital-based medicine because I find it challenging and rewarding. The inpatient setting allows one to make a great difference even in a short amount of time. I especially enjoy taking care of the critically ill and working with patients and their families.
Background
I was born in one of the republics of the former Soviet Union. My family moved to San Francisco in 1989. I did the rest of my growing up in San Francisco and Bay Area. I moved to Southern California to attend medical school at UCSD, but missed the Bay Area so much that I came right back for my residency training at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
I joined HBS at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center in 2007. I feel that Kaiser because Kaiser offers tremendous resources to both its physicians and its patients. It is in this setting that physicians can offer their patients most excellent care. I also like the diverse population that I will be working with. I speak Russian and Spanish and look forward to practicing both with my patients.
Recommendations
I think that everyone should seek to live a balanced life and be proactive about his or her care. All of us live fast paced lives and have to work to make the time to relax, eat right, and exercise. I also encourage all my patients to ask questions so that they feel informed and comfortable with their care.
Personal Interests
Spending time with family, traveling, watching movies, and reading.Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, traveling, watching movies, and just “hanging out”.
