Thanks for Visiting My Home Page!

I am a psychologist at Kaiser Permanente Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Department in Walnut Creek. I started out at Kaiser Permanente in San Rafael as a pre-doctoral intern in 1997, and realized almost immediately that Kaiser Permanente was where I wanted to practice as a psychologist because we can offer integrated care to our members in a way that few other organizations can. I have had the fortune to work here in Walnut Creek since 1998 as part of the Chemical Dependency Program first as a pre-doctoral intern, then as a psychological assistant, and now as a psychologist. I worked in the Adolescent Chemical Dependency Program up until the fall of 2005. Since then, I have been on the Adult Chemical Dependency Team, working primarily in the Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program.

I work with a great team of people dedicated to helping our members engage in the life-changing experience of recovery. We try to help provide an encouraging, empathic and structured environment that supports people in learning to live a life free of mind altering substances. I consider it a privilege to be a part of someone’s recovery from drugs and alcohol. It is an exciting and rewarding experience to see how someone’s life can change for the better when they are clean and sober and working a program of recovery.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
