About Me

After graduating college in New York, I became a Social Worker in Los Angeles, working with children in the foster care system. After 10 years, I returned to undergraduate school to pursue my lifelong goal of a career in medicine, then worked with patients in the Kaiser Permanente Internal Medicine Clinic for 17 years. In 2001, I joined the staff at the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program.

I am a proud, devoted mother to my two beautiful teenage daughters. Leah is an honor roll student at St. Joseph Notre Dame High School, while Lilian shines as a middle schooler at a small school in the East Bay that places special emphasis in the arts and in social justice. Both girls are talented artistically and musically. Motherhood keeps me very busy, and fills my life with richness and meaning.

My empathy and compassion have made me well suited for our work at CDRP. I assist patients who struggle with their addiction, and celebrate with them when they are able to find sobriety and recovery. Throughout my medical career, my patients have taught me a great deal as they have trusted me with their grief and their deepest fears, as well as their joys, hopes, and successes. The trust and confidence they place in me is a privilege and a gift, as well as a deep responsibility.

The CDRP program is truly a team approach. I work with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other physicians, all dedicated and committed to the well-being of our patients. Together we offer our assistance to those courageous individuals as they face their fears and struggle for sobriety. We are willing and eager to work with all Kaiser members who need us.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
