My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a certified nurse-midwife. As a nurse-midwife at Kaiser Permanente, I care for women throughout their pregnancies, during delivery, and in the postpartum period. I truly love what I do and feel privileged to be with women and families during such a special time.

My Practice Philosophy

My goal as a nurse-midwife is to provide support and information to women so that they feel empowered to make informed decisions about their pregnancies and birth experiences. I strive to provide safe, compassionate, respectful, individualized care to every woman I see and try to listen and respond to each woman's hopes and concerns. I focus on the prevention of problems during pregnancy and on maintaining normalcy during the birth process.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

Before coming to Kaiser Permanente, I was a nurse-midwife in a private practice. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008 and feel lucky to be part of such a great organization.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

As a practitioner at Kaiser Permanente, I am able to offer women access to high quality, evidence based care during their pregnancies with an emphasis on wellness and disease prevention. I also have the opportunity to work with an incredible team of midwives, obstetricians, and perinatologists who are all committed to providing the kind of obstetric care women want and need. Kaiser Permanente offers great educational opportunities to women during their pregnancies and makes it easy for me to make appropriate and timely referrals if the need arises. I am especially excited to be at Kaiser Permanente as our midwifery service expands and grows.

On a Personal Note

When I'm not working, I enjoy listening to music, spending time with my friends and family, snuggling with my dog, getting lost in a good book/movie, and doing exercise of any sort. I also love to travel and plan to set foot in every continent at some point in my life. I am currently trying to learn to play the guitar. . .with only moderate success."
