About Me...

My strongest influences are my parents. My father is a family practice physician and my mother was a lab technician. I frequently went to work with them and got an intimate first hand look at the fascinating world of medicine. I can’t imagine another job as being as fulfilling as working in the urgent care department. It’s particularly satisfying when I can make a direct and immediate impact on a patient’s illness.

My Background...

I attended UCLA as an undergraduate and obtained a bachelors degree in psychobiology. I then obtained my medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. I moved to Northern California to be near my wife’s family. I completed my residency at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Santa Clara, CA. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialty of Internal Medicine. I enjoy doing things that are “hands on” such as wood working and home remodeling. I guess that’s why I enjoy working in the urgent care department.

My Recommendations...

No one ever makes long term plans to visit me in the urgent care department which is understandable. No one plans to have an accident. I am surprised about how may people express regret or feel guilty about seeing us. Don’t think this way because accidents happen to even the most prepared person. We are here to help you with all problems, big or small.

My Philosophy of Care...

I believe that a healthy diet and regular exercise contributes greatly to a good overall sense of well being.

On a Final Note...

There are numerous sources of medical information today. It can get quite confusing. At Kaiser Permanente we are always looking for the best way to take care of you. We strive to apply the safest, effective, proven treatments for you.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
