My Specialty and Why I Chose It

Greetings everyone! I am an emergency department physician. This means I help take care of patients with serious and not so serious ailments; heart attacks/strokes/trauma to common cold symptoms and stubbed toes. I decided to become an ED doc because I really enjoy the variety of patients that I see; everyday is a little different and always exciting! The different things I see help to keep me on my toes.

My Practice Philosophy

As a physician, I value the chance to really connect with my patients. I hope to help my patients find out what's wrong and help them to feel better, always with the hope that things will work out ok in the end. It's a tough and oftentimes distressing thing to be in the ED not feeling well; I always try and put myself in my patient's shoes, trying to understand them as best I can.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since November 2009 and I love it! I really appreciate all of the opportunities here, both for my patients as well as for me. Patient care is very well integrated here; patients truly receive the highest quality of care, both in the ED setting and in following up with their primary care doctors as well as specialists. The great quality of technology/information/camaraderie among physicians and highest level of integrity among staff helps patients receive the best of all worlds.

On a Personal Note

After medical school in California and residency training in New York City, I couldn't wait to come back home to the Sacramento area. My family has always been super close, with new nephews and nieces all around. I recently was married to my best friend, Joseph, living a great and happy life!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
