Welcome to my homepage

I am happy to be a part of Kaiser San Jose Department of Anesthesia. I was drawn to Kaiser because of the superior care it provides to all its patients in a safe, efficacious and friendly environment. Although I love taking care of infants and children, I enjoy all aspects of my practice. I am an advocate of regional anesthesia and recommend it to my patients so they can recover faster from the anesthesia and be comfortable post-operatively. I am always inspired by new technologies and information in my field! So my goal is to try and learn new things while improvise my existing skills and practices.

My Background

In medical school I was drawn to pediatrics as a specialty, but my anesthesia rotation changed my mind. Anesthesiology is one of the fastest growing specialties in the field of medicine, and I was fascinated with the attention to detail and accuracy it demands. The beginning of my career in New York is the most memorable time in my life. My residency training was intense but exciting, and I had the most wonderful mentors who shaped my life and taught me great skills. My life became a full circle when I was accepted at Children's Hospital Boston to specialize in Pediatric Anesthesia. I chose to continue to stay at Children's for some years before we were lured by the beauty of California, and moved here to be close to my husband's family.

My Interests

I like cook, create exotic recipes inspired from various cuisines, travel, try adventure sports and watch movies. I speak and write fluent English and Hindi.

My Recommendations

My practice philosophy is based on patient safety, patient advocacy and patient comfort. In simple words, I consider it my responsibility to inform my patients about their care and what to expect. My endeavor is to provide best possible care and strive for your comfort and safety. On the other hand, I also expect you to follow preoperative instructions and research your anesthesia options so that we can make decisions about your anesthetic management together. I also recommend that you optimize your medication management prior to the procedure. Regular exercises and quitting smoking help tremendously to speed up post operative recovery.

My Credentials

Medical school Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India
Internship Bronx Lebanon Hospital, Bronx, NY
Residency New York University Medical Center, New York, NY
Fellowship Children's Hospital, Boston, MA
Board certification Anesthesiology, American Board of Anesthesiology

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
