Welcome to My Home Page!

Thanks for taking a little time to get to know me!

I grew up locally in San Ramon, attended California High School there and then went onto U.C. Berkeley for college. I headed south to the Los Angeles area for medical school and then to the East Coast in Philadelphia for my residency training in Emergency Medicine. Everywhere I’ve gone I’ve met wonderful people and had incredible experiences not only in the arena of medicine, but also on a personal, spiritual and cultural level.

I’ve always been very interested in other cultures and languages. I speak Mandarin and Cantonese just about fluently, and can do a little Japanese and Spanish. Even though I’m not perfect in these languages, when I’ve had patients who didn’t speak English, it’s been a great way to bring us closer to understanding each other in a stressful situation. In the future, I expect this to continue to be a good way to facilitate my interactions with my patients.

I’ve been practicing medicine since 2003, and joined Kaiser Permanente in 2007. Through my many experiences in the past, I hope to have a greater understanding of everyone I work with, and to continue the experiences of meeting, helping, and learning from the people of the community that I grew up with.

My Credentials

Medical school Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA
Residency Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
