About Me

I am a psychologist practicing in the Chemical Dependency Department, within the Department of Psychiatry. I practice from a theoretical foundation in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, with a strong emphasis on acceptance and mindfulness practices. I chose to work in the field of Chemical Dependency because I have been profoundly impressed and inspired by my patients' strength, hard work, humor and resilience.

During my graduate training, I focused my research on relationships, emotion regulation, couples, and mindfulness practice. I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children, and enjoy working to help my patients use their own intuition and skills to improve their lives and their relationships. I trained at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Psychiatry for my post-doctoral residency year (2008-2009) and felt blessed to be hired as a full-time staff psychologist following this year. Within the Chemical Dependency Department, I lead therapy groups focusing on Relationships in Recovery, Opiate Addiction, Teen/Parent Skills, and Women's Recovery. I also provide individual therapy for adults and adolescents.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
