Born and raised in the Philippines, my inclination towards the field of counseling was propelled by a spirit of compassion for others. I received a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and later pursued a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. My decision to study counseling was inspired early on by my father who demonstrated a relentless interest in the field.

Defining and cultivating an understanding of one's emotional, spiritual and mental strength is my philosophy for my practice. I believe in balance and wholeness. One of the keys to finding both lies in the process of having an internal balance of who you are and finding a greater purpose in life.

My experiences range with children, adolescents and families. From the emotionally disturbed in specialized schools to an inpatient setting for adolescents with dual diagnosis, these opportunities have shaped my specialty. In addition, I have worked with children and teens in the underserved population under the Mental Health Service Act (Proposition 63).

In 2007, I joined the Kaiser Permanente Child and Family team. Since then, I have worked with individuals, families, the Teen Depression group and I am currently working with other specialized groups such as the Child Socialization and Intensive Outpatient (IOP). I enjoy working for Kaiser Permanente because of the treatment team concept. Simple and easy access to other providers allow me to provide better services to my patients. Being immersed in this setting has given me learning and growth opportunities both personally and professionally.

In addition to my passion for counseling, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am an active promoter of healthy living and fitness and an advocate for humanitarian causes.
