My Biography

I like working at Kaiser Permanente because of the variety of diagnoses I get to see. I have the opportunity to perform a range of procedures through both office and hospital consultations. In addition to a broad background and career in my field, I bring three years of public health experience to my role at Kaiser. I also sit on the Medical Advisory Board of the American Medical Association.

The Kaiser model is ideal for patients. We have highly skilled physicians at San Francisco Medical Center, and because of the integrated care system, they are all in one place.

Away from the medical center, I exercise regularly at a gym and try to watch what I eat. I spend most of my free time with my wife and three children. I enjoy skiing and bicycling, and we like to travel as a family. Our most recent excursion was to the Costa Rican jungle!

Undergraduate Education: BS in Chemistry, Bates College
Professional Affiliations: American Gastroenterology Association
Began Practice: 1990
Joined Kaiser Permanente: 1991

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
