Welcome to my home page!

I am an anesthesiologist at Kaiser Permanente San Jose. I am very fortunate to work with a great group of individuals. I strongly believe in teamwork and I think that we have some of the best anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists practicing right here in our department. After reading my home page, I hope you will have a better idea of who I am as a physician and as a human being and I look forward to taking care of you during your surgery.

Background

On a personal note, my family moved from Russia to the United States when I was a teenager. I attended Dartmouth Medical School and came to California to do my residency training. I attended Stanford University and after graduation I decided to stay in Northern California to practice medicine. I am very happy to be a Kaiser physician. This organization shares my professional goals and allows me professional growth that I probably would not have been able to achieve elsewhere in the medical field.

Philosophy of Care

My personal philosophy is to provide an anesthetic that suits your medical and surgical condition. I do not believe in a “cookie-cutter” way of approaching anesthesia. You are an individual and your anesthetic is individually designed for you! I also believe in the complete peri-operative experience from a visit to the Anesthesia Preoperative Clinic to a phone call or an email message to your anesthesiologist prior to the procedure. The goal is to provide a pleasant and anxiety-free experience.

Recommendation

I believe in the complete peri-operative experience from a visit to the Anesthesia Preoperative Clinic to a phone call or an email message to your anesthesiologist prior to the procedure. The goal is to provide a pleasant and anxiety-free experience.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
