I decided to specialize in psychiatry because I believe strongly in the influence of our thoughts and feelings on our well-being.

I highly value an integrated approach to healthcare. I will work closely with you--and with your permission--family members, your primary physician, and your therapist to better help you achieve your wellness goals. I encourage my patients to be their own advocate, and I welcome any questions that you have. It is helpful for you to bring any prior medical records and medications to your first visit.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2011 after four years of practice as the consulting psychiatrist at a primary care clinic in Berkeley. I chose to join Kaiser because it has excellent integration of services, top caliber colleagues, and a team approach to healthcare.

Thank you for your interest and for taking the time to learn more about me and the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente. If you have any questions about your care, please feel free to email me. If you need to schedule a follow-up appointment, please call (707) 765-3565. The fastest way to obtain medication refills is by calling the phone number on your bottle. I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
