Welcome

Hello and welcome to the Physical Therapy Department. Thank you for visiting my web site!

I was born and raised in Walnut Creek, California. I graduated from Las Lomas High School in 1980 where I enjoyed playing 4 years of Varsity Basketball and Softball. I then went down to beautiful San Luis Obispo and graduated from Cal Poly State University in 1984 with a Bachelors in Physical Education and Health Administration. I continued my studies at the University of California at San Francisco and received my post graduate degree in Physical Therapy in 1988.

I joined the Kaiser Permanente Team here in Fremont in 1988 as a staff therapist, and have been here for 18 years already! I am currently a Supervisor in the Physical Therapy Department and a Senior P.T. I enjoy treating a variety of orthopedic patients, but my specialty lies in treating patients recovering from Total Knee Replacement. I started a Knee Replacement Class here in Fremont in 1993, and it has become very successful over the years, assisting many members with their recovery. I also teach a Back Class through the Health Education Department called "Strong Back, Strong Body", which educates patients on proper posture, body mechanics, and self treatment for low back pain. To find more information on these classes please see "My Favorite Links".

In my spare time I enjoy horseback riding, gardening, vacationing in Maui and at our cabin in Hope Valley, and hiking with my two dogs, Cooper and Kirby. I love watching and playing baseball. Go A's!! I also spend a lot of my free time on the sidelines, cheering my two children on in their various sporting activities, and participating in their school sport and education programs as much as possible.

I look forward to meeting and working with you in the Physical Therapy Department.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
