I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Shortly afterwards, my parents moved to the sunny, dry, state of Arizona. I grew up in Sierra Vista, Arizona, a small community surrounded by the Huachuca Mountains in the South East corner of Arizona. I graduated from Buena (meaning 'Good') High School and went on to do my Physical Therapy pre-requisites at the University of Arizona in Tucson (not to be confused with ASU). I graduated with a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University, in 1982.

I then moved to Portland, Oregon (wanted to see what rain was like)and worked in a private practice in Beaverton, Oregon. I was active with the Oregon Physical Therapy Association and served as Vice Chairman of the Portland Orthopedic Study Group. Oh yes, and I also met my husband there.

I was accepted to the Kaiser Hayward Orthopedic Manual Therapy Program in 1986 and successfully completed the program in 1987. I took a job at Kaiser, Hayward, as a Clinical Specialist and served as a Clinical Instructor for the Residency Program until 1995, when we relocated to the beautiful Cameron Park area. Since 1995, I have been fortunate to work with all the other fine clinicians here at the South Sacramento Physical Therapy Department.

Over my career, I have enjoyed working with a variety of problems including neck and back conditions, orthopedic injuries and strains, and Temporal-Mandibular Dysfunctions. I was a part of the APC program and have taught back and neck care classes as well as the Advanced Back Training Classes in the past.

As the Clinical Specialist at South Sacramento, I help with clinical mentorship, instruction and collaboration with Physical Therapy students, newer graduates, or other staff members. It is very fulfilling to watch them blossom into highly skilled clinicians. Our clinic takes pride in exposing new graduates to the multiple components of evaluating and treating our Kaiser members.

When not enjoying work, I fill my time with 3 children's worth of activities, including Select Soccer, Basketball, Softball, Brownie Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc.; Mom's Taxi Service; helping out in my 2nd graders classroom; serving as Advancement Coordinator for my son's Boy Scout Troop as well as being the Personal Fitness Merit Badge Instructor. My husband and I try to keep up our 5 acres with its assortment of goats, chickens, etc. Oh yes and, occasionally, I do clean my house.

Thank you for visiting my home page. When you have time, take a look at some of the links in the navigation bar to the left for some helpful information regarding my profession, personal interests and a selection of treatment ideas for common physical therapy related problems.
