My Background
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I attended college at University of California, Irvine and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. I received my osteopathic medical degree from College of Osteopathic Medicine of The Pacific located in Pomona, California. To further my adventures, I moved to the East Coast to complete my internship at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey and finished my residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the heart of Bronx, New York. I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2002. I am a member of the American Osteopathic Association.
Clinical interests…
Besides working in the Emergency Department, I also like to help with staff education.
On a personal note…
I enjoy black-and-white photography, hiking, and traveling to exotic places. In additional to English, I am fluent in Chinese and Cantonese.
My Philosophy Of Care…
I believe that patients should actively participate in their healthcare in order to enhance your doctor-patient relationship. Always carry your updated card/list of medications, allergies, and other health-related issues in your wallet or purse. This would be of utmost importance if you are at a non-Kaiser ER, traveling, etc. And never leave in doubt from our ER or any clinic visit - ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask questions to your physician(s). There is always someone available at Kaiser Permanente to help you such as your clinic physician, advice line, or the Emergency Department.
Recommendations...
I like to advise all patients to visit their primary care physician at least once a year. The key to a healthy lifestyle is called prevention. You want to prevent or detect anything early.
About our facility…
Once you step foot into our brand new Emergency Department (ED), the medical staff and I will coordinate the appropriate care that will meet your needs. Our 24-bed ED is staffed by Emergency Medicine trained physicians. We have access to our specialists, ranging from Hospitalists, Cardiologists, Orthopedists and Surgeons who are on call at all times. We also have 24-hour availability of Lab, X-ray, CT, and ultrasound as part of providing you quality care.
Our doors are always open 24/7, 365 days a year. If in doubt about coming into the Emergency Department, you can call the advice line at (408) 362-4740.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
