About Me
I am a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist, caring for children with cancer and diseases of the blood. I chose pediatrics because I love working with children. While I was in medical school, both my parents were diagnosed with cancer. My experience supporting them through treatment convinced me I could show special empathy for families dealing with this illness.
In 1993, after finishing my fellowship at UCLA, I joined Kaiser Permanente in Southern California, then left to join my husband in Northern California. Since then, I have worked in a number of practices in Northern California and British Columbia, Canada. I am thrilled to be back with Kaiser, where I can give compassionate, state-of-the-art care to the whole family.
My research interest during fellowship was in neuroblastoma, a rare and fascinating cancer of childhood. I have a special interest in late effects of chemotherapy. I am an active member of the Children’s Oncology Group and the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. I am board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology.
Personally, I have two wonderful daughters and enjoy hiking, biking, playing tennis and exploring the beautiful Northern California area.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
