My Biography

I joined Kaiser Permanente San Francisco because of the collegial environment in the Anesthesia Department. We have a collaborative relationship with many departments at this hospital to ensure that we are providing the best patient care. I chose anesthesia as my specialty because my niche is in the operating room. I have a special interest in obstetric anesthesia and pediatric, vascular, and orthopedic cases.

The acuity of patient cases that we see are higher here since San Francisco is a high-risk center; I embrace the challenge of these cases. We also see a wide variety of patients – I have cared for people from the age range of 2 hours old to 103 years old.

For patients, one of the best aspects of Kaiser Permanente is its stability – I’ve met patients that have had three generations of their family born in Kaiser hospitals. Providers at KP can also focus completely on the safe care of their patients rather than business issues.

When I’m not in the operating room, I love to be outdoors and most enjoy spending time with my son. I am an avid windsurfer, and also like mountain and road biking. In the winter, I make it a point to go to the gym a few times per week.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
