My Biography

I was born on the East Coast and raised in both the United States and abroad. I graduated from Beaver College in Glenside, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors. I received an Optometry Degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, and completed Low Vision Training at the Feinbloom Eye Institute in Pennsylvania.

After completing my training I moved to California as a commissioned Officer in the United States Army. I spent several years on the Medical Staff at Letterman Army Hospital and served as a member of the Clinical Faculty at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry.

I joined The Permanente Medical Group while completing my Masters Degree in Business Administration at San Francisco's Golden Gate University. I am currently Chief of the Department of Optometry.

I enjoy foreign movies, gymnastics, hiking, running, rock climbing, and kayaking in my leisure time.

I and the entire Optometry Department want to be certain that all of your concerns are addressed. If you need to schedule a follow-up appointment in the Department of Optometry or forget to ask a question during your office visit, please call 675-2023.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
