Welcome To My Home Page

I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. As a hospital volunteer at age 12, I developed a passion for a career in Medicine very early. I began my nursing training at Saini Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland but, after moving to California, obtained my Registered Nurse license in 1973 from City College of San Francisco. My Bachelor of Science degree was completed at Dominiguez Hills State University in 1994.

I accepted a position with Kaiser Permanente, Redwood City in 1988. My career has followed many paths within Kaiser Permanente, from hospital nursing to clinic nursing. My passion for both nursing and teaching led me to become involved early in Kaiser Permanente’s highly respected asthma programs – both pediatrics and adults. The years spent as a clinic nurse provided the opportunity to develop the Redwood City Kaiser Permanente Pediatric Asthma Program.

For the past 4 and ˝ years I helped to develop the Adult Asthma Care Management Program within the Department of Medicine.

I take tremendous pride in seeing our patients develop the skills and confidence in managing their asthma. Health care is a partnership between the patient and his (her) health care provider and I am honored to be able to assist in helping to strengthen that bond. I feel so fortunate to work for a health care organization that supports and encourages health prevention and patient education.

Outside of Kaiser Permanente, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two grown children and wonderful dog (a Yorkie). I love walking (with my dog) daily, reading, cooking for friends and family and traveling.

Please browse through my home page and explore the links to the related health topics. Feel free to call me directly at (650) 299-3727 for more information concerning your asthma.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
