About Me

Welcome. I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist (#PSY19359) here at Kaiser Permanente in Vacaville. I was born and raised in Stockton and moved to the Bay Area in 1977, where I spent many years in the field of advertising.

In the mid 1990's, I made a major career transition when I attended and completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology at Dominican University in San Rafael. Upon graduation, I attended the Wright Institute in Berkeley where I received my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology.

While completing my Bachelor's Degree, I spent two years as a volunteer working in the area of Dual Diagnosis (Psychiatry problems). It was this experience that made it clear that I wanted to attend graduate school and make my second career in the field of Psychology.

My pre- and post-doctoral training took place at San Francisco General Hospital's Psychosocial Medicine Outpatient Clinic, where my training emphasis was in Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Throughout graduate training, I was able to practice a variety of models including Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also have training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to help patients resolve past trauma. I am a member of the American Psychological Association; California Psychological Association; and the Marin county and the San Francisco Psychological Associations, and the Society for Personality Assessment.

In the Kaiser Vacaville Psychiaty Department, we are able to provide a variety of services, including psycho-education and support groups; case management; psychiatrist evaluations; and nursing services. Although I have worked in private practice, I far prefer working at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville, where we are able to work collaboratively to promote the emotional and physical health of our patients.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in my home and walking with my two dogs (and cat - who likes to walk with us)!

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
