About Me

I grew up in San Francisco, California and have had the privilege of practicing at Kaiser Permanente since 1984.

I chose optometry because it is a health care service that everyone needs, so in that regard it's a stable career for me. But more than that, I enjoy my work because it's an ongoing learning experience for me and so rewarding to be able to help people on a daily basis. Kaiser Permanente is a great place to work for, a place where I can have close working relationships and open communication with providers in my department and from other disciplines.

Some other things you might want to know about me are that I am retired from the military, I enjoy reading for self improvement and to better serve my patients, and I speak Toishanese.

My educational background:

Undergraduate Education: BS in Engineering, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo
Optometric Education: University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
