Welcome!

Welcome to my Home Page. I’ve set this up to give you access to information about chemical dependency and services inside and outside of Kaiser Permanente, including some links to community self-help groups that will allow you to find meeting schedules for your area. I’ve also included a little info about myself.

To get any of this information, just click on the title you want in the navigation bar on your left. If you want to e-mail me, just click on my e-mail address. I hope you find this helpful. If you have ideas for how I could improve the page, please let me hear from you!

Our chemical dependency team provides services to members concerned about substance use, either your own or that of family members. You are welcome to drop-in for an initial appointment with a staff therapist anytime between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will meet with a therapist to discuss your situation and be given information about resources within our department, within Kaiser, and in the community.

You may also feel free to drop in to our evening educational series that meets every Tuesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at 820 Las Gallinas in San Rafael, or every Friday from 5 to 6 p.m., at 3900 Lakeville Highway in Petaluma. This is a rotating series of 12 different topics related to alcohol and drug abuse, and recovery. You may drop in any evening during the series. A psychologist is available to answer your general questions and specific questions about available Kaiser programs.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
