About Me

I was born in South India and raised in a city where I was exposed to diverse cultures. After graduating from Manipal Academy of Higher Education Kasturba School of Medicine in India, I pursued post-graduate education in the US. I completed my Preventive Medicine residency training as well as a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene/Public Health in Baltimore, MD. I am Board certified in Occupational Medicine and in Public Health & General Preventive Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. I am also a certified Medical review Officer. I am a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

My clinical interests include musculoskeletal medicine and occupational medical surveillance.

My philosophy and approach is to provide the highest level of care to allow my patients to achieve their best level of functioning after an injury and prevent new injuries. The Occupational Medicine program at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center allows me to treat patients with a team approach, enlisting the injured employee as a key member and teaching them how to prevent new injuries.

I joined Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center in 2002 and it’s the best professional decision I have ever made because of the quality, professionalism and commitment of my colleagues. I currently serve as the Chief of Occupational Health at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center.

I love traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.

In addition to English, I also speak Kannada.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
