About Me…

I am a multi-generation native Californian, originally from Southern California. While completing my residency training at UC Davis, I decided to settle in the Sacramento area. I enjoy all that Sacramento has to offer including the numerous outdoor activities, particularly biking. I firmly believe in leading a well-balanced lifestyle and in the concept “Be Your Own Cause”.

My Work…

As a hospitalist, I belong to a group of Internal Medicine physicians in the Department of Hospital Medicine (also known as Hospital Based Specialists, or HBS). We specialize in caring for patients who are hospitalized, and we also evaluate patients in the clinic or Emergency Department who may need to be hospitalized. We are able to coordinate care among different subspecialties and provide patients and families with an overall care plan.

Why Kaiser…

As a resident, I had the opportunity to work in several different types of health care systems, including Kaiser. What I found appealing about Kaiser is the fact that it is a part of a well-integrated system. This means that I can not only easily access pertinent medical records, but I can also keep close contact with the patient’s primary physician and subspecialty physicians. This provides more comprehensive care and avoids redundancy.

We, as physicians, can also participate in the structure of hospital care and institute programs to improve patient care. As the Physician Director of the hospital's 3rd floor (medical/telemetry unit), I help foster a team approach with nurses and physicians. I also was involved in the creation of our Medical Response Team (a team of critical care specialists who can assist with acutely ill patients in the medical/surgical/telemetry units) which can help save lives.

About You…

The reason that I am a part of the Kaiser Permanente team is to help you. If you are browsing my home page, you or a family member may have been under my care in the hospital. I urge you to visit some of the links listed on this page to learn more about a particular diagnosis or your health in general. It’s never too late for any of us to start taking better care of ourselves.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
