BIOGRAPHY:

I began my Physical Therapy career with Kaiser Permanente in 1989 at the Stockton Medical Center in the Outpatient Physical Therapy department. I worked in the Stockton facility until the year 2000 when I transferred to the South Sacramento facility to work in the Pain Management program. My therapy background is varied. I have been primarily trained in Manual Therapy practices and have also been trained and certified in Pilates Exercise Instruction. I have used my background in Pilates to develop exercise routines for people suffering with Chronic Pain. In September 2003, I implemented a Pet Therapy Program at the South Sacramento Pain Management Clinic which has continued to demonstrate great success within our program.

I was a Collegiate Softball player at the University of Pacific, and have also been a Triathelete and Marathon runner. I continue to emphasize exercise as a health maintenance tool in my everyday life.

CREDENTIALS:

Undergraduate B.A. in Physical Education, University of the Pacific (1980-1984)
Graduate M.S. in Physical Therapy, University of Indianapolis (1986-1988)
Certificates Certified Pilates Instructor – Professional Health Fitness
Board Certified Physical Therapy Board of California (PT# 15716)

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
