How to Use My Home Page...
I have been with Kaiser Permanente San Francisco for 16 years. During this time I have worked in a variety of settings, including psychiatry, primary care and behavioral medicine. Through my experiences as a mental health provider, I have gained a deep appreciation for the many stories of survival and resilience that I hear from patients. I use these stories to facilitate patients’ connections to their own healing processes. For this reason, I create a safe sharing space for patients’ narratives. I believe that patients’ intuitive healing and their voices are embedded, though perhaps hidden, within their experiences. My perspective is that mind, body, and spirit are intricately woven together.
Thus, my therapeutic approach integrates multiple healing interventions that focus on the whole person and their comprehensive well-being.
I specialize in assisting individuals who struggle with issues of ethnic and racial identity, or who have endured the pain of oppression and marginalization. I also present an extensive background in working with members who are coping with pervasive stress symptoms, anxiety, depression, and acute chronic health somatic concerns. It is my belief that psychotherapy can be a solid starting point for receiving empathetic, compassionate, and healing health care.
When I am away from the office, I enjoy sustainable gardening, writing, mindfulness meditation, and Tai Chi/Bagua.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
