About me

I was born in Saigon, Vietnam and moved to San Jose, California when I was 9 years old. I stayed there until I finished with high school, I am the middle of 3 children.

My undergraduate study was in pharmacology at University of California at Santa Barbara. I then attended University of Southern California for dental education. During dental school was when I was exposed to the field of Maxillofacial Surgery and fell in love with it. I then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Vanderbilt school of Medicine and residency in Maxillofacial surgery. After residency, I was lucky enough to be able to join Kaiser Permanente. At Kaiser Permanente I can focus my time and energy on patient care and not having to be burdened with the administrative aspect. Also, I am priviledged to work with top notch surgeons in my field as well as other surgeons and doctors who have same common goals, which is to treat our patients using evidence based medicine and to provide the greatest care.

My surgical interests include: orthognathic, obstructive sleep apnea, trauma and craniofacial reconstruction surgeries.

I am married and blessed with three wonderful children. I enjoy playing tennis and golf in my spare time.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
