Department Hours

As a team of Hospitalists, we run a 24/7 service and do see patients who show up in the Emergency Room requiring admission. Sometimes when necessary, we also admit directly from the clinic when your primary care doctor requests our help to admit and treat you in the Hospital.

I am proud to be a member of such an outstanding department and the medical group here at Kaiser Permanente Manteca, Modesto and Turlock. I hope that we can always provide the highest quality of care and service to you.

About Me

I am a native of the San Joaquin Valley. I was born and raised in Denair, CA, which is a small town in Stanislaus County. After high school, I left the Central Valley for college and graduate school in Southern California. After earning a master's degree in Public Health at University of California, Los Angeles, I returned to work at the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency as an epidemiologist for several years. I decided that I wanted to work directly with patients to affect health, and so I returned to school and received my medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco and completed my residency in internal medicine from University of California Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA.

My Philosophy of Care

I think it is important for patients to understand their illness and what it means for them in the future. I do my best to educate my patients on why they are sick.

I look forward to working at Kaiser Permanente where we work to promote appropriate but not excessive care and where there is a state of the art electronic medical record system. My medical interests include intensive care, infectious diseases and end of life (palliative) care.

More About Me

I am married and we have one son. Most of my extended family lives here in Stanislaus County. Even though I have enjoyed living in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Ethiopia, and Uganda, the Central Valley is my home. When I am not working, I enjoy photography, international travel (mostly to developing countries), bird watching and going to art galleries.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
