About Me

After getting my degree from Boston University, I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nicaragua. I lived in a very small (less than 1000 people!) village for two years, working as a Community Health Educator. When I came back to the States, I took a job in Napa at a non-profit agency called Healthy Moms and Babies, where I did health education and case management with pregnant women. Before signing on with Kaiser Permanente, I worked at Child Haven in Fairfield. I have been a certified personal trainer for over five years and am also a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist.

My passion lies in health education because by helping people make lifestyle changes, we can prevent or at least delay both minor and serious illnesses and chronic conditions. Even small changes can improve the way someone feels physically and mentally. Eating well and incorporating daily activity into your life can help ward off illness and depression, as well as boost your energy levels and decrease chronic pain. I love being part of an organization that promotes a comprehensive approach to health care, one that includes prevention through education, alternative therapies, and cutting edge treatments and medicines.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
