About Me

I joined Kaiser Permanente in May 2007 after two years spent in private practice in the Central Valley. I could not get comfortable with the fee-for-service philosophy where patient visits were the motivation and not prevention of disease. So here I am because the KP philosophy and mine are similar. I am here to help maintain your good health and not just to fight disease.

Growing up I dreamt of being a fighter pilot. In hindsight I am thankful for what I am and what I do. I would have been miserable with having to cause death and destruction. I grew up in different parts of India and then moved to the USA in 1998 when my parents moved. I wanted to experience the Big Apple and so did my residency and fellowship in New York. It is definitely the most amazing city in the USA. I moved to California in 2005, tired of the NY winter and wanting to be closer to my family.

I deal with all lung disease and have a special interest in pulmonary hypertension.

In my free time I love playing tennis, listening to music, playing the air guitar, fine dining and also occasionally doing nothing.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
