Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Welcome to my Internet Home Page. Thank you for your interest and taking the time to learn more about me and the Radiology Department at Kaiser Permanente Modesto. There are a number of links to clinical information, as well as a link to the web sites of other members of our department. You can even use this site to refill prescriptions, or request an appointment with your personal physician.

About Me

I was born and raised in India. I obtained my medical degree at Government Medical College Nagpur University, India. I did general surgery residency at New Rochelle Hospital Medical Center, New Rochelle, NY. Thereafter, I completed my diagnostic radiology residency at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ. I also completed two fellowships; one in nuclear medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY and the other fellowship in abdominal imaging at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD.

My medical interests include cross-sectional imaging with Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). I like to use the immense diagnostic capability of MRI which has the added advantage of no radiation.

I come from a family of doctors where mostly all women are physicians. My mother was the first physician in the family and her dedication and brilliant career inspired me, my sister, and other women in the family to follow her footsteps. This trend is still continued. In high school I was interested in anatomy and dissection and pursued a career in general surgery. During my training in the United States I changed my career to radiology as I was fascinated with the technologic advances in the field. I then pursued an academic career in radiology for several years and wrote several peer reviewed publications. I developed a keen interest in Body MRI and established this service at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA. I served as the Director of Body MRI and trained several fellows in Body MRI fellowship at the University of California Davis Medical Center.

I joined Kaiser Permanente Central Valley in 2008. This is a rapid growing area with the opening of a new hospital in Modesto offers an exciting opportunity to get involved. The experience of working is richly enhanced by the congenial atmosphere in the Department of Radiology.

I am married and have two children. In addition to English, I speak Hindi and Marathi fluently. My personal interests include gardening / landscaping, interior designing, faux painting, and music.

My Philosophy of Care

I like to help people in distress and alleviate their medical problems. I am here to provide expedient and accurate diagnoses for patients by using appropriate imaging modalities. This can help the clinicians treat patients effectively.

Our entire Radiology Department and I want to be certain that all of your concerns are addressed.
