My Personal Philosophy

I consider myself very lucky to have discovered Audiology in graduate school for Communicative Disorders. The practice of Audiology combines the scientific understanding of sound and hearing with the personal experience of helping improve patients’ lives through better hearing and communication. I strive daily to be as thorough and effective as possible in the assessment of hearing loss, in helping patients to understand the details of their hearing loss, in determining the most appropriate avenue for remediation of hearing loss and in assisting patients to be comfortable and proficient in the use of their hearing aids. It is a pleasure to develop a relationship with each patient, whether assessing hearing or working together towards improved hearing.

About Me

I was born at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City and my son was born at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, so obviously Kaiser Permanente has been a big part of my life. I began work at the Kaiser Permanente Hearing Center in Daly City in July 2006, after graduating from San Francisco State with a Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders, emphasis in Audiology.

When not working, I enjoy reading, crocheting, camping, hiking, playing softball, and listening to music at a reasonable volume.

Credentials

B.A. in Liberal Studies with minor in Literature from San Francisco State University
M.S. in Communicative Disorders with emphasis in Audiology from San Francisco State University
Certified member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing association in Audiology

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
